Great Friends Take U.S. Track & Field Championships

LaShawn Merritt and Shawn Crawford dominated their respective fields at the 2009 U.S. Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, and Terrence Trammell missed the gold by the slimmest of margins. Merritt, Crawford and Trammell are all Great Friends, featured stars in the unique line of personalized printed greetings at Great Friends Greetings.


In the 400 meters, Olympic Champion Merritt, celebrated his 23rd birthday with a world best-equalling time of 44.50 seconds, winning by a hefty 0.43 seconds.


Olympic gold and silver medalist Crawford won his fourth National Championship in the 200 meter dash, crushing the field by a whopping 0.27 seconds.


In contrast to the 400 and 200 meter dashes, the 110 meter hurdles final was a remarkably close finish, with two-time Olympic silver medalist Trammell finishing second by only 3/1000 of a second.


Merritt, Crawford and Trammell will all compete in the World Track and Field Championships in Berlin in August.
